Day 65 Tuesday 15/10 Paris 16 deg Cloudy -
Judy here...Paris in the autumn, how lovely the colour of the trees are. For breakfast we went to the local Boulanger, Josephine and bought the best ham and cheese baguette we have had in a long time, as well as a pastry that was light and had a jam filling, you have to hand it to the French they sure can do bread and pastry. The first orders of the day were a haircut for "moiré", and after 78 days since my last cut, let's just say it was well overdue. Guillaume, with translation help from Julie coloured and cut me back to "looking human" again. So we walked from our hotel near the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile along the Champs Elysées crossed the Seine to the hair salon on the right bank past Musee d'Orsay then back across the left bank via Place de la Concorde, where a demonstration was occurring with so many police on duty, onto Rue Saint Honoré for some "dream" shopping, then Opéra de Paris Garnier for a look and finally Galeries Lafayette. Now this is some department store, with a gorgeous glass dome atrium...and so many choices and queuing to shop at the designer brands, we were "gob smacked". There was a huge entire floor devoted to just designer brands for children! We had a late lunch on the 6th floor and then walked back to our hotel, in total about 13k, where we collapsed.
