Day 24 Wednesday 4/09 Paris 31deg Sunny -
John here....Well the girls laid down the law and said they wanted eggs for breakfast. This was fine with me, anything to get away from the All Bran and yogurt, so they found this place called La Coupole, the same spelling as the German V2 rocket facility we visited earlier. The problem was this place was 2 odd klms from our unit so after the foot slog to get there it was midday. This was a big place with seating for hundreds, totally inflexible - breakfast was over - so we went across the road and each had an omelette. I later (on the way home at 7.30pm) found out the cafe around the corner serves omelette.
The next thing on our agenda was to vote so it was off to the Australian Embassy - interesting experience - heaps of security etc to get in and access controlled. We did our duty and both Judy and I thought it amusing that the ALP how to vote pamphlet had...How to vote for K Rudd and the Labour Party, maybe they need to reinforce who the current leader is....I don't know.
You're probably thinking, this is a long bit from me - but I am sitting here with a nice red so wait there's more.
We did the hop on - hop off bus tour, caught all the sights during the day to end up at the Eiffel Tower. We had tickets to go to the top and after copious photos left for the unit around 7pm via the metro, cracked open a bottle of Mumm champagne.
