We made it out of Bangkok alive...just!
A crazy place with crazy people but today we made it through the slow and thorough border control of the Cambodian police/army. We now have a few days to adjust to the much slower pace of life in Siem Reap which seems nice so far. It was also exciting to find out, despite some banking issues along the way, that today we became millionaires; unfortunately in Cambodian Riel and not Sterling but the huge wad of cash did feel quite good.
Our dinner this evening cost us just over 40,000 reil which is actually about $10. And yet we're still hoping to find cheaper!
Over the next couple of days we hope to watch the sunrise over the ancient temples of Angkor and eventually sail down to Battabang which I think is in a middle of a national park.
The temperature is still in the high 30's and the humidity around 90% so it's a little warm to say the least.
It finally feels like we're actually travelling now that we've escaped the whirlwind of Bangkok.
