I went to the museum today, and I have to say that it was good.
I walked there, because on the map it doesn't look like a long way. I figured half an hour. It took me an hour. When I got there I was dripping with sweat. And the heavens opened on the way. But luckily I had my umbrella, as my mum always says "Never leave the house without an umbrella; you can never trust this English weather". Okay, so I'm not in England, but the premise is the same.
There are some good galleries/exhibits at the museum. I particularly like the Cyclone Tracey one - there is this dark room that you go into and it plays the sound of the cyclone; eerie and a bit frightening! I also liked this one about the animals - they had a couple of skeletons/fossil of giant, long extinct mammals  Sweetheart the crocodile was a marvel - it was/is huge! There was also this cool show of art student stuff - some of those were really good.
The walk there has completely shattered me, so I might not be doing anything to night. I just booked a fishing trip for tomorrow - gonna catch meself some barramundi . The guy I booked it with has given me 2 passes for a free feed at the Old Vic. Although I do not want to go there again (once is okay; twice is unfortunate; three times and you're a fool; Four times you surely need to be given a slap?), it is a free meal.
Last night started off badly for me. I was still in my funk. And the voice of one girl that was there was really annoying me. And a guy in the group was still refusing to look me in the face. Chris pulled me out of it though. I think that there are only 2 people that I would like to meet up with again. Chris and Mike. Chris: musio, Mike: film buff - my 2 favourite subjects (next to eating cake, that is).
Last night we just ended up going to a couple of bars. Got my first drink bought for me, which was nice. BTW, when a guy tells you that he's no good at pulling girls is he trying to tell you something? I only realised last night that 2 women that were on the first part of the tour with us were definately gay - I absolutely have not got gay-dar. It was only towards the end of that part of the tour that I thought one of them was looking at me funny. Looking back I now realise that she was.... being kinda starry eyed at me. Crumbs!
