So island time was over on Monday but Fiji time wasn't. Louise and I had three more nights at Smugglers Cove and we wanted to make them nights to never forget. Fiji vodka made sure that didn't happen.
That night we arrived back at the hostel about 6 and sat down for the last supper with Jack and Amy. After dinner, there was only one thing we could do. Drink lots of vodka and play drinking games. Can't really say much about that night as Louise and I woke up with a few questions. How did we get back to bed? What happened? Did we say bye to Jack and Amy? Are we dead?
We felt horrendous. After messaging Amy and asking what happened I got the response, "I guess we'll never know". That night and pretty much the whole of Tuesday were written off. I was in bed until mid afternoon before getting up and heading into Nadi town for dinner.
After dinner I was feeling better so when we got back to hostel we joined a Fijian kava ceremony with the Kavaholics. Everybody sat in a circle whilst they played music and we drank kava. It's a local Fijian drink. It looks and tastes like mud but if you go that far around the world you kind of have to try it. It's an anaesthetic so your lips and tongue go numb and tingle. Didn't taste nice but quite a nice feeling.
Yesterday morning we got up and headed into town for a bit of souvenir shopping. A bit of kava inside one of the shops and a quick stop off in the supermarket which was an experience in itself.
Last night was the last night of our trip and by now anyone can guess what we did. Vodka and drinking games. We were joined by Ash and Frank from our Kiwi bus and a few others. About half the people ended up in the pool. Some kept there underwear on too. Haha
Today we got up and checks out at 10. One last chance to top up our tan? Nope. It pissed it down all day. Thank Fiji! Obviously not the most exciting day in the world but on the way home now.
First flight entertainment was awful so slept the whole way. LAX was a bit of a disappointing airport but now on the BA flight and loads of films to watch. Shame I'm stuck in the middle of 4 moaning kids.
Hope all are good and see you soon
