Luke and I spent a day working out where we wanted to go after Bulawayo when the Germans asked us if we wanted to save some more money and go with them to Matobo national park. They had found a tour guide who would be willing to take 7/8 people in a minivan for a cheap price. We'd heard about this national park. It has so many amazing rock formations and also some rock paintings! We accepeted their offer and so stayed another 2 nights there then get a coach to Johannesburg the day after.
It was so amazing to see the national park. We saw some hippos in a man made dam but that was about it for animals except for the ever present baboons. We weren't expecting any animals though so we weren't dissapointed. We then drove to the bottom of a hill then walked fo about 30 mins until we reached an amazing cave painting. They were very old and were sadly faiding but I'm so glad we went. On the way to the cave paintings, Luke decided to go and have a look at the top of the hill, not realising we were here because of the cave paintings. He only told Selene he was going so about 20 mins later, I went off to seach for him as he still wasn't back! After some searching and shouting, Selene found him further down the hill. He'd got lost after trying to go around and down to get to us. Only after I mentioned the paintings did he notice them! I'm very glad we found him! I had panicked for a little bit.
That evening it was time to say goodbye to the germans but Bruno and Selene were also staying another night and getting the sleeper train the next day.
