This day we were traveling to Tanzania to stay with luke's mum's friend from uni. As we had left it too late to book the bus we had to get matatus to various places. First we got a lift to Mombassa, then after a very very sad goodbye to Antonia (who I'll hopefully see in Australia!) a matatu to voi, then one to the border town Taveta, then a boda-boda (motorbike) each across the border, then a Tanzanian version of a Matatu (even more squished!) to Moshi then a slightly bigger bus to Usa river, then a taxi to his house! All in all it was a 14 hour jouney! But we managed to only spend £15 each! Amazing how cheap the transport is! We arrived at his house to find it a massive mansion! It's huge! He designed it himself and it has a huge garden with a pond/lake in it and a tennis court! He's such a nice man and very helpful when we didn't know where we would stay.
