The next morning we managed to find a caravan park that had spaces for us. This meant we could go on a wander around Byron Bay. FIrst of all we went into a very touristy shop where I bought some post cards and also got some dashboard items for our car. We then went into other touristy shops, looking at cool ozzie stuff like didgerydoos and stuff. I bought an ozzie hat made out of kangaroo leather. Apparently the corks on the hat are usesless so none of the hats actually have any on them. This was very sad to find out as it would have been hillarious! We then found a very cool hippy shop selling very colourful items. Seumas bought something for krissie and we also got some more things for the car. We then went for a relax on the beach. This beach wasn't as nice as the one we had been to the night before or the one before that but it was still very good and had lots of people to people watch on it. We then got back to cook and have a couple of beers.
While we were having some beers, a guy came up to us and asked if we wanted to have some surfing lessons the next morning. He gave us a discounted price so we said yes! Seumas was very worried that it was a scam but after a night at the only pub open on sunday night, he turned up the next morning with others there who had the same thing as us. We headed 20 mins south to a very calm beach that was perfect to learn on. I am still not very good at all! I was expecting to be good but I definatly need more practice. This was great and we spent 4 hours doing it so we were ready to finish by then.
After the surfing, we headed off to cape byron, the most easterly point in Australia. This was very beautiful and had a great view of all the beaches around. We then headed off to a random campsite on an amazing beach.
We had a great time here playing in the waves and the rock pools around it.
