Spent the day at sachsenhausen concentration camp on the out skirts of Berlin. As you can imagine it was quite upsetting, about 100,000 people died in the camp. The camp was full of exhibitions on the camps history, but they also had a couple of barracks set up they would have been during the war. It was amazing to set how small the beds were, how many people they cramped in and how they would have lived. We saw the exercise yard where the prisoners being punished would have to up to 25 miles a days to test boots for German soldiers, the execution trenches and prison cells.
Off to Dresden tomorrow which is known as 'Florence on the Elbe'. I hope that is a good thing.
Our favourite things about Berlin:
1. Hot dog vending machines in our hotel
2. Curry wurst (sausages with curry sauce) on almost every street corner
3. Sarah - cute puppies everywhere. Jolly - cheap Weiss beer.
