We have finally arrived in Berlin after almost 2 straight days of driving. We spent a night in cologne on the way, which seems to be a very cute town on the rhine river. Slept our first night in the camper car which was actually not too bad - pretty spacious. I think they are hard core campers here, a German man at the camp ground tried to tell jolly that camper would be comfortable for up to 6 people if you put a tent on the roof. It would not be comfortable for up to 6 people.
Berlin is lovely, very relaxed, beautiful architecture and lots of history. There are way too many museums, they even have an area called museum island, I'm not sure why though there are museums all over the city. We did a 4 hour walking tour which took us around all the highlights and explained a lot of the history.
The photo above is a holocaust memorial to all the Jewish people killed by the Natzi's, it is in this location so that it can be seen from the government debating chambers as a reminder of what can happen when government goes wrong. In the photo gallery you will see photos of us at the Berlin wall, victory gate and sarah holding the first (of many I hope because they are delicious) bratwurst sausage.
