This was the part of Spain I was most looking forward to and although it was lovely, it managed to rain the whole time we were there except for one day. We timed it just right for our chill out beach day, got sunshine all day and had a great time playing in the surf and being beach bums! San Sebastian is a lovely - long white sand beaches, surfers and boutique shops. It was really busy with tourists, but none the less a picturesque seaside town.

Madrid is the coolest city we have ever been to. We did a 3 hour walking tour, and the history of the city and royal family is amazing. It is a beautiful city with more bars per capita than any other city (more than 1 for every 20 people!). We also found out the way we eat tapas now isnt how the spanish do, you don't go to one resturant and choose 4 or 5 tapas, you are supposed to order a drink and get a small taste of the house specality meal and then move on to...

Granada had a very impressive moorish palace / fortress overlooking the city, we spent about four hours at this place. Sevilla is definitely a highlight of the trip so far. The home of bullfighting, this is ever present everywhere you go with the bull heads on the walls of every tapas bar, shops and restaurant. We took a tour of the city's famous bull ring 'plaza de toros de la real maestranza de' which was really interesting but they told us they still kill 6 ...

We had two days in Valencia, the birthplace of paella, lovely white sand beaches and a clean and new looking city. We filled our time drinking sangria, eating cured meats and practising our Spanish on the locals with varying degrees of success. They do these set lunches everywhere which are fairly cheap for a lot of food, we found a cute little place near the central market for our 2 hour lunch, we felt quite spoiled! That cover photo is the view from our bed this week! Almalfi is amazing - rocky rugged beaches surrounded by dramatic towering cliffs. The coast is dotted with quaint little villages clinging to the steep rocky terrain. We visited a number of little towns and have posted pictures in the photo section.
