O M G IT'S COLD!!!!

Now I have that out of my system...

I woke up early this morning aiming to get going early but I got sidetracked. First I chatted to the other girl in my room, she was friendly and said she was looking for something to do after new year and might come to Harbin with me. I went for some toast for breakfast, then went to find out about Harbin flights and they're much more than I expected :( I've decided not to go to Harbin and maybe go to Xi'an instead.

I then went for a walk and steadily froze to death... I tried to got to see Mao but they weren't being helpful. I could just about understand that I couldn't take my bag in, so I decided not to bother today because I was too cold. I then proceeded to walk across Tian'amen square and it was so windy and cold that I couldn't breathe! I paused behind a lamp post before I made it all the way across.

I headed towards the Forbidden City and stopped off in a cafe, shop and art exhibition on the way to warm up! It was far too cold. I paid entrance but had to keep stopping inside the museum and towards the end I decided it was time to give up. I rushed the end of the museum then walked to find the shopping centres. It was a longer walk than I anticipated and by the time I found the shopping centre I couldn't feel my legs!

I wandered around and warmed up then found a Pacific Coffee Co. and had a British cup of tea! As I thawed out my legs started to sting and they feel all chapped :( Eventually I braved tje outside, found another shopping centre and the metro station. I caught the metro to the closest stop to the hostel, which is still a fair walk, and walk as fast as I could. I stopped half way to have my hair cut. I was feeling brave and also cold and it was a good place to stop. I managed to explain what I wanted to the hairdresser although it did start off a little long... In the end it was acceptable and much better than long! I then half ran back to the hostel, I was so relieved when I made it back!

It's now 6:45pm and I'm not going out again!

I hope tomorrow is warmer :(
