The ride from Barkly Homestead to the Three Way out of the way we fueled up at a cheaper rate before the long haul North to Daly Waters. We had stopped there before on our last trip. We still had around 390 ks to go and the heat pf the day was starting to rear its head. The wind was more in our favour now and with a flick of the cruise control we headed off. We decided to break every hundred ks if we could. This may not seem much to the average traveller but when you are on a bike weighing close to 320 kg loaded in 35 deg heat and barely a twistie on the road. Then you add in the fact you are wearing an armoured jacket and helmet and wedged into the same position with no air con. A 100 clicks is a long way. Our first stop was at a roadhouse at Rennet Springs. We grabbed a quick lunch and went another 130 to Elliott. Got an icy pole there. Then straight through to Daly Waters hwy inn. Grabbed fuel here at a respectable price of 151 for premium. We then extended through to the famous Daly Waters Pub. A decision to purchase a stubby holder was made. Not much in the way of camping ground but we got a donger basically. Looks like a big night here as the band were setting up as we unloaded the bikes. Had a nice dinner and listened to the cold chisel tribute band. Ended up having a few ales and reds with the band until midnight. A nice brekkie and then a short ride to katherine.

Shirley You must be losing a few kilos sitting in those jackets all day. Would be like a sauna on wheels!! Sounds like you had a good night and a late one! Top of 9 deg in Ballarat yesterday and not much better today. Another damn stubby holder i see. That is another one gone out of the cupboard!
