Days 34 & 35

Day 34 was always planned to be a Nothing day , because the number one tour organiser had research ed the day before and knew we would be in need of a big sleep in. The light hit our eyes around 10.30 ,fluffed around at bit, than headed to a close by plaza just to get some lunch and to see what goes on in places like this in Alaska. One of the stores in the plaza area was Fred Myers it is huge,everything you could want, Woolworths, a target ,furniture and home ware.

For lunch we brought pork spar ribs already cooked to perfection and once we got home the carnivores let lose ,they were absolutely beautiful,along with a very beautiful Pinot ,there is a photo of before and after , lion have nothing on Shirley and I.

We had looked on line and the Northern Lights were a big chance to show so again we were excited but alas it wasn't to be as the had clouds rolled in. Again we had another late one 2.30 .

Day 35 up a 5.45am to be taken to the first of 2 airports ,Fairbanks to Vancouver, followed by Vancouver to Sydney Australia, Home. We have some beautiful in flight Photos taken by Shirley. I am writing the blog from a little in airport restaurant called Lift, it is good enough to write about, chilli squid , scallops and wild boar on a cabbage fry slaw and fresh hot fries, with a glass of Chardonnay and a locally produced beer.

So this how all blogs should finish, good food, good wine and beer and sadly goodbye.
