Iḿ in Quito again now and have a spare 10 mins before i meet a friend for dinner so thought I´d do a quick blog (i have a dodgy keyboard so my spelling may appear even worse than usual!)

I can really notice the altitude here again as Iḿ short of breath just walking down the street! Iḿ staying in a hotel in mariscal that ,y forends in San Cristobal booked for me. It has heavy security gates, hot water and ....a duvet!!!!!!!! heaven!

Tuesday 2nd December:

On tuesdat I was on lunch duty with Bec (Australian) and we asked to make cake. This time we made 2 massive lemon cakes which turned out really really well.... everyone was v complimentary! I had probelems turning on the oven and almost set jatun sacha alight!The oven runs off of a gas canister and when i lit the match the wholr of the oven, including the outside was in flames... I quickly turned it off but singed my right eyelashes. They are definitely shorter than the left ones now. On Tuesday night we went to the bar and drank a lot of rum and played down hill pool. The night ended in salsa dancing so i must have had a few rums as i remember thinking i was pretty good!

Wednesdat was spent cutting mora, This was really satisfying as i saved some trees! We were cutting an an area that had been replanted with endemic sapplings previously. The mora grows so quickly that the poor babies were drowning in the evil plant! So I cut a load away with my machette and uncover a tree and unwrap the mora from itś branches. I really am a tree hugger now!
