Ok, I have already written this blog once and lost it so can´t guarantee to be as witty and intelligent the second time round!!!
The weather took a turn for the better yesterday and we had the hot weather that you might expect from the equator. However just when i´ve got my flip flops on a massive storm has started! It is v impressive thunder and lightening but i have left my raincoat back at the house... oh no!!!!
When the sun is out it is unbelievable hot... so now as well as carrying 2 jumpers, a scarf and umbrella in my handbag i also need suncream.
Papallacta was amazing yesterday, and yes my feet were warm. The hot springs are nestled in the Andes and are naturally hot from volcanic activity. It was great to get out of Quito, and the views were amazing. If my pics ever finish uploading you can see some rubbish views from the bus and the luxury of the hot pools. There are some hot pools and you can get into the glacier water in the river running down the mountain - v v cold!!!!! But my skin feels lovely today.
Today was my last spanish lesson and i clearly need some more! I found out that I´ve told my host family that i am ´hot and horny´ ( i meant to say warm and excited about the Galapagos) OH DEAR!!!!
At School we made some traditional cake-men for All Souls Day. It was really fun, especially decorating them and munching the heads after.
I´d like to conduct an experiment.... which way does the toilet flush in the UK (and in Dubai P and H)? Is it a myth that the toilet flushes the other way round south of the equator? Answers on a postcard please (I mean message board). I´ll try and remember to look the next time i go (although it is hard enough to rememebr not to flush the paper!!).
Tomorrow I´m off to Cotopaxi Volcano. I hope the weather is clear so I can see the views. And on sunday v early i´m off to the Galapagos so I´m not sure when i can next blog. Keep writing me message anyway.. I´look forward to hearing from all of you!
