Rainy day at the Iganyana Tent Camp In Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe
Yesterday, April 10th was mostly a travel day.
Started at 7 AM with a boat ride to breakfast while still at Chobe Safari Lodge. Speaker talked about Namibia. English was not good enough to fully understand his story. I should look up more about that part of Africa
At 10 AM we started a 5 hour bus ride thru Victoria Fall and onto Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe.
After arrival went in a short safari but found nothing new. We want lions close up.
Tents are more glamping than camping. King size bed, full bath. AC, weak WiFi. After dark must be escorted by guards armed with 50 cal rifles.
Woke up today (Thursday) to rainstorm which ruined our 6 AM walking safari. Had breakfast about 9. Noon now and still raining. May stop around 2. Until then not much to do but hang around central tent with 24 tour mates. Most are on phones or discussing “whatever” some are reading. We may play bridge.
The sky is looking brighter. So maybe.........
I did email the school we will visit on the 15th and told the teacher I had a video from my students at South Brunswick HS. She got the email, but don’t know about the videos.
