A WOW morning but just an OK afternoon at Chobe National Park in Kasane Botswana. At 10 AM we went on a floating photo safari. Boat had 8 $5000 camera systems. Everyone had his/her own camera. Wake up 5 AM for 5:40 departure on safari. 8 of us in back of Range Rover pickup. Saw dozens of elephants, 100s of impalas, several giraffes, bunch of baboons, a few hippos, a kudu, several Cape Buffalo, some jackels, whole lot of birds, and one lonely lion. Left hotel 845 in bus to OR Tambo airport for 1 1/2 hour flight to Chobe National Park in Botswana. Lodge was 10 minute drive from airport. After check in took a 3 hour boat ride in the Chobe. Saw elephants, hippos, Cape buffalo, deer, a huge bald eagle, and lots of other birds. We saw them close up from the pontoon boat. Pilot would beach the boat to get us closer.
