Had extra time, took Uber from hotel at 901 W Olympic Blvd to La Brea Tar Pits.
Uber was great. Showed up in 5 min cost &17 incl tip for 20 min ride. Pleasant driver clean car. Talked real estate prices and taxes.
Tar Pits is a do not miss attraction. Downtown LA, 1000s of fossils of animals that got stuck in tar & died. Great 3D movie on tar pits and animals of 20 to 40000 year ago, ice ages, & extinction.
Took another Uber back. Young man born in NY but raised in Uganda. Africa.
Served in US Navy in Mid East, wants to move to Florida & start business. Talked gas prices & CA crooked politicians.
Ate at The Yard House across from hotel. Great food. Pricey. Chicken sand w fries &13.95. Side salad $3.95. Same meal in Southport. 3 or 4 dollars cheaper
CA sales tax almost 10%, gas $2.79 for regular
