Left hotel 845 in bus to OR Tambo airport for 1 1/2 hour flight to Chobe National Park in Botswana. Lodge was 10 minute drive from airport.

After check in took a 3 hour boat ride in the Chobe. Saw elephants, hippos, Cape buffalo, deer, a huge bald eagle, and lots of other birds. We saw them close up from the pontoon boat. Pilot would beach the boat to get us closer.

Had buffet supper at Chobe Lodge with our group of 24. It was someone’s birthday so the staff put in a performance. Those Africans can dance.

Wake up is at 5 AM for drive thru game preserve starting at 5:40. Will be back for breakfast about 9,
