Back in London and crashing at Amy's place. Will probably stay here for a few weeks until she heads away on van tour so long as she hasn't booted me out before then!!!
Brussels was fun, especially as it is the first place we've been with a language barrier. Nigel wasn't so impressed though when he ordered a steak that turned out to be a lump of raw mincemeat! Other than that the food and chocolates were nice. Amsterdam was very cool. Loved the city itself and all the bicycles. But its just so crazy to see a coffe shop selling drugs and streets selling sex!?! So we enjoyed our first trip to Europe until it came time to get back to the airport as it turned out to be a costly exercise. I asked for train tickets to the airport got them and we boarded the train. Only when we got to the airport we realised it wasn't the right one (how was I to know Brussels had 2 airports???!!!) OOPS. So we were now about 80km from the airport we needed to be at and running out of time. Eventually we got there and caught the plane but we had to resort to taking a VERY expensive taxi ride.
SO we got back to Dublin in the end and spent 3 more nights with Clint and Maeve. They had surprised us and bought tickets for the four of us to go and see Riverdance........in the box seats!! Very good times :) Actually they were both fantastic to us the whole time we stayed, we were rather spoilt!
Left their place on Saturday morning and caught the ferry across to Wales (once again a very costly experience as I was charged more than I got quoted and then they refused to cancel the ticket - red hair flared a little at that!) Then we drove Daisy to Cambridge where we said our goodbyes to her and sent her off with new owners, sniff, sniff. And then it was back to London carrying a van load of luggage!
Nigel left last night :( and should be landing in Bangkok right about now where he has a couple of nights before doing his horrible day of flying from Bagkok - Sydney - Auckland - Chch - Queenstown and then a drive home.
I'm gonna spend the day looking for random jobs to make a bit of dough if I can!
Love Jo
