So we finally left Australia after ten and a half months of being here and we have had an amazing time, the sights we have seen have been so beautiful. My favourite thing about Australia has to be the Great Barrier Reef with all the amazing fish. If I lived here I would be diving and snorkelling all the time.
We are here in New Zealand finally.. cant believe we managed to get through the airport without having to pay as my suitcase was only 10kg over and Jo's was 7kg's over. We managed to convert some into our hand luggage and chuck a bit, and with only 3 over she let us through free so that was lucky!! My first thought is that it is BLOODY FREEZING!! The first night (15th) was ok we stayed in Christchurch in a caravan park. We have hired a Britz campervan, which is wicked; it's got a toilet and shower, a gas cooker, microwave and heater. We love it. The first night we had the heating on so didn't really feel the cold, last night we stayed in a car park lol and so no heating as obviously it has to be plugged into a power socket in a camp site, To bed I wore Jo's Paul frank big comfy pyjamas which were tucked into 2 pairs of socks and covered my some jogging bottoms, under my PJ top I wore a t-shirt tucked into the bottoms and also wore a HAT and GLOVES ha ha. It really was that cold (OH AND WE ALSO HAVE 2 DUVETS!!) I bet you don't wish you were here right now. On the upside New Zealand is gorgeous, it is so scenic and we have seen some amazing things already. Yesterday we went to a placed called Lake Tekapo, which is so very beautiful and HUGE! There is a little historic church right on the lake called the church of good Shepard. We also went Ice skating which was very funny, I wasn't that confident but Jo fancied herself as a bit of a torville and dean. Ha ha rather funny when she went arse over tit and winded herself. Lol. Poor Jo. Wish I would have taken some pics or a video - would have got myself some money on you've been framed.Today we went to a place called Mount Cook where lord of the rings was filmed, it's a massive mountain and very beautiful to look at but to be honest there's not much here so we just did a nice walk and tomorrow were going to do a walk to see this frozen lake and glaciers in it which should be cool. I am treating this as a bit of a boot camp - lots of walks and not so many calories = lots of nice outfits in New York. J Oh also the food is nice and cheap here in the supermarkets (Pak'n'Save) so were rather happy.
