Today were leaving Mt Cook and heading for Te Aneu, before leaving we wanted to see a bit more so went on a couple of walks the first was the Tasman Glacier walk which was so amazing the lake was not quite frozen yet so the glaciers are still floating slightly, the pics really don't do justice to this glacier, the glacier is New Zealand's largest but the majority of it is under water. We then continued to walk higher up to the Tasman glacier look out point from here we could also see the blue lakes which are now green! . I reckon the glaciers are one of the coolest things I've ever seen well worth the walk loved it.
The rest of the day was spent driving to Te Aneu which in total has taken about 7 hours on route we stopped off at Lake Dunstun for lunch which was lovely and a stop off at Kawarau to see the AJ Hackett bungy bridge, unfortunately it was closed but got out and had a walk across the bridge.
We arrived in Te Aneu about 8.30 this evening, and sneaked into a campsite lol, very bad!!
Well it's the next morning now and we managed to get away with it. Had a lovely sleep with the heating on and plenty of Brew's made by Jo and Nintendo D.S time. Perfect!
Today we explored Te Aneu and we started off by doing a 12k Walk! CAN U BELIEVE THAT! Lol my bloody legs are killing me now and as for my feet.. Don't even get me started! Was nice though! The next thing we did was go to see the glow worms.. It was fantastic!! You go through this caves and the entrance is really low so you have to bend down and then you see waterfalls and the clearest water.. It really is amazing. The best part was going on a little boat to a part of the cave called the 'Glow worm grotto' There were loads of Glow worms here and they looked so magical, much better than the ones we seen in the forest in Australia. You couldn't take pictures though because it scares the glow worms but if you're bored then google 'Te-Aneu glow worm caves' and you will see what we did, magnificent.
After this we hit the road because it's Milford Sound tomorrow and were going on a cruise so I'll let you know how it goes!
