UK Road Trip, Summer 2017
Easy landing, passport control and luggage pickup. Rent-a-car turned into ordeal. Twice as expensive as guaranteed price and "too big" of a car, but good GPS, maybe. Learning curve for driving on "wrong" side was good enough to get us to Canterbury safely. Difficult staying awake (2 naps).
Medieval town with interesting pubs and friendly people. Small room with fan to get us through the heat wave. Historic city and cathedral to be explored tomorrow after a good night's sleep!
Great introduction to British pubs and beer.

Lois Goodstein No, you weren’t suffering from jet lag (nor did you land in Pisa instead of London). While you are in Canterbury, check out the Crooked House, perched at the end of Palace Street and within earshot of the Cathedral bells. An internal chimney slipping gives the house its asymmetrical appearance and gives the building a dizzying effect. (And you thought you had left your vertigo stateside…)
