So we arrived in Christchurch after the worlds shortest flight ever... albeit with some turbulance!!
We had left sunny Auckland to a not so sunny Christchurch! So Craig was a little bit upset! He He!
We checked into our accommodation which was a gorg hotel called the Copthorne which we got a great deal on working out the same price as a regular hostel... so was very chuffed with that!! Ensuite again.. yey!

We had a blast in Christchurch.... booked a 2 hr horse trek at the most beautiful ranch called Rubicon Valley! We rode through valleys and over mountains and I got to gallop through open fields which was great fun!! Craig even had his first canter!! On top of one of the mountains we stopped and had hot chocolate with homemade scones which were lush!

Our second day here was total bliss.. we went to a village called Hanmer Springs which was about 2hrs from Christchurch. Here we spent the day chilling in hot open air thermal pools which overlooked the mountains and had a bbq with our tour friends! we were surrounded by ducks... but the food was too nice to share!!
Afterwards Craig and I went for a very competitive game of mini golf.. which I won (and got a hole in 1).. have to say this just to wind Craig up! We also acted like little kids and had a great laugh completing a maze (craig got wet - see pics).

Finished off Christchurch by checking out the city centre sights before collecting our hire car for the next 9 days (bargain at 18 pounds per day).

Off we go to Rangitata River for some white water rafting.......
