Jo's Most Excellent Adventure
Hey everyone! I feel I owe you a decent journal update, I've been a bit bad and haven't really updated you guys in detail. Soooooo last time you heard from me I was hanging out in a rather cool hostel called the Arts Factory, very alternative man, with tai chi lessons and digeridoo workshops, I was living in a teepee, which unfortunately wasn't as cool as it sounds, freezing cold and rathe uncomfy. But nevermind, think of the mind broadening hippy experience.....ahem. Anyways just spent the rest of my time chilling out on the luuurvely Byron Beach and went to the Hippy Market on sunday morning, no you don't buy the hippy's there just stuff from them! Was really good fun! Then off to brisbane with my new chums Sophia and Emily, unfortunately Brisbane turned out to be unbelievably boring, think Smallsbury Village except replace the cathedral with a couple of skyscrapers. I spent a day or so here recovering from teepee experience and planning my time in New Zealand according to budget, I picked up this brochure with a company called Stray Further, sounds really cool and away from the stupid drunken t*** you tend to meet here on the East Coast you get to climb a GLACIER! How cooooooooooooollllllllll. (Literally) So am thinking thats next on my list! ALso just before I left Byron I booked my 4x4 Camping trip of Fraser Island which I'm doing on the 13th with my canadien friends Aja, Sophie and Maddy and also dum dum daaaaaa I'm going to do my openwater PADI scuba diving certificate! (Yes I know I'm afraid of sharks, this is a big deal ok!!!) But the best part is, I'm doing it whilst learning to sail around the beautiful Whitsunday Islands, super fun! Well at least I hope it will be, I managed to get this package which got learn to surf lessons thrown in free, so thats what I'll be doing at Rainbow Beach. Am now Bonefide surfie chick, (with cool green necklace to match!)
So then on to Noosa this morning, staying at a really cool place called Dolphins, right next to Sunshine beach and the National Park, I went on a 10km bush walk this afternoon, so am kinda tired! Still haven't seen any koalas yet, dammit! Little b*****s must be hiding from me! However, have now seen 3 kookaburras! The walk was really lovely and am feeling super healthy atm. Make sure you check out all the photos I've update, unfortunately one of my memory cards got corrupted so I lost a few but at least I got a fair few saved. So tomorrow I go in search of koalas once more, before heading to Rainbow Beach to meet up with the canadiens again and drive Fraser Island. Can't wait!
Lots of love
Jo
