So yesterday was a long day. It started out not so great because I still couldn't get into my key bank account. Mike and I went searching for travel books with Cat and Kyle. We tried three different bookstores that had books in English. Of course when I would find any kind of travel book for where I want to go it was either insanely expensive or just not really worth spending money on. So my plan is to ask mom if she can maybe bring a couple books over when she comes. Since I was in a bookstore, and have a love of books, of course I had to check out the fiction books as well. Some of them were really expensive, however, I discovered that the classics were pretty reasonably priced. They were 3.49 euros each. So I bought 2 books, Mike bought 2 and Cat bought 1 and we are just going to trade books with one another after we finish them. I bought The Great Gatsby (one of my all time favorite books) and a collection of short stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald also. I can't wait to get my pictures from Lisbon done and finish up my "Along came a Spider" book so I can read that one.
Once we got back I worked on my Lisbon pictures some more. I got all of them edited, now I just need to get them all onto Kodak.com. I started to load some on but for some reason not all of them are transferring so I'm going to have to go through my online album and compare it to the regular Kodak easyshare album to see which pictures are missing. Right now I have some pictures of Mike's transferring in, so that should narrow the gap of missing pictures.
So last night we went to a Salsa club! It was so much fun!! We learned how to Salsa and Muchata. I loved it. We are signed up for FREE lessons on monday and wednesday nights now. I can't wait, it will be such an experience. I'm really really excited. I'm going to have to buy a salsa cd so I can practice in my room.
This morning Mike and I got up bright and early to go to the art market in the Museo Plaza. Local artists go there to sell a bunch of their pieces for pretty reasonable prices. I found a couple things that really caught my eye and once I get my stupid Keybank card straightened out and I can take cash out I am definitely going back there to pick up a couple things. On the walk back home I stopped into a shop that had some really neat jewelry. I got these really big funky earring for only 2.80 euros. I'm definitely wearing them the next time I go salsa-ing. We walked a bit more and stopped into a tourist shop because I saw some really cute cards that would be perfect for my scrapbook. One has a flamenco dancer on it and her skirt is made with real cloth, and the other has a bull fighter and a bull on it and the man has a cloth outfit. I also got myself a Flamenco dancer statue for my shelf at home. She's very pretty and I figured I might as well get my souvenirs now so that I can maybe send them home with mom when she comes. Or at least some of them home so it's less that I have to try to pack at the end of my trip.
For the rest of the day I have big plans to get lots of things accomplished. Mike and I are going to try to book our flights to Paris as well as find a hostel/hotel. We also want to try to get to Amsterdam the weekend of the 18th, so we were going to start looking in to flights and hostels for that weekend too. Try to plan out some of our trips. After that I'm going to do my homework for my Managing Cultural Diversity class, sign up for the trip to Morroco, clean my room, finish uploading my Lisbon pictures and hopefully have a little down time to read some of my book or add some comments onto my Lisbon pictures so that I don't forget what anything is. I will have to add a lot of comments so that will take a long time but as long as I can get them online and ordered that's the main goal. The comments are just an extra thing to do for me.
Today's my day, I have a good feeling about today and that I am going to get a lot accomplished!
