Day 22 - Chiang Mai
Nicola and Lynsey arrived in Chiang Mai early this morning and booked into the same hotel as us. We knew they would want to sleep so we hung around waiting for them and they came chalking our door about 1.30. So we had a chat with them about what they were planning for Chiang Mai and decided to use today to organise some tours etc. So we went for lunch in a nice wee cafe around the corner where we got a fry up! Michael and I put almost all of our clothes in to get washed, dried, ironed and vacuum packed for £5! We washed 10kg of clothes and that was all it cost. So we are back to fresh again for a little while! We spent some more time organising tours etc and we booked a cooking school for Friday, and a trekking tour for Saturday. Very excited! So we all went to have showers and get ready before we headed out. We went and had dinner and a beer in johns place, the same place we had gone the night before. Then the four of us headed down to an Irish bar that had a pub quiz on. We were looking at the drinks menu and it said a 'set' of whiskey for 260 baht. We ordered that thinking maybe it was a bucket, but they gave us a half bottle of whiskey and two cokes with a bucket of ice. So we got two sets haha! The pub quiz was really busy. The others chose our team name - team jambo :)! - and we entered. We thought we were doing okay, but we came last!! Haha! So we left the Irish bar at about 1am and found a tiny wee pub that was still opened. There were an Irish couple in the bar that we got chatting to and pretty soon after there were just the six of us in the bar. The bar manager let the staff go home and told us the bar would be open until we wanted to go to bed. We have no idea when that was haha but we had a great night!
