Day 21 - Chiang Mai 

 The bus arrived in chiang Mai at 6am. I had slept the whole way and woke up then, to find Michael had been awake the whole time! So we went to the hotel and Michael had a wee sleep before we went to explore. We got up and decided that we wanted to go to the zoo today. Soweto walked around to find somewhere for lunch and ended up having a McDonalds, but it has been the first one haha! We wanted to get a taxi so had a look at our map and tried to find the taxi station. We walked for over half an hour and didn't have a clue where we were so decided just to jump in a tuk-tuk. We had avoided it at first because they are a rip off in Bangkok but they were really cheap here! When we got to the zoo, it once again started to rain a little bit. We decided just to go for it anyway since our day in Bangkok had been ruined by the rain, but pretty quickly it turned into another monsoon and we were drenched! The zoo was huge so we were knackered by the end. We spent the full day there and left at closing time. We came back to our hotel and got dried off and changed then headed out for dinner in a really nice wee bar called johns place. When we were finished we decided to walk around to figure out where everything is since we plan to be here for a while, mostly looking for good bars in preparation for nic arriving here tomorrow! We found a used book shop and bought some new books then headed home to read them, saving some of today's budget for drinks tomorrow!
