Jens' Travels
This morning, we headed north up the east coast of the Isle of Skye and stopped off at several viewpoints along the way. The views along the coast were spectacular. We stopped by at some viewpoints of The Storr, a rocky hill near the coast, and Mealt Falls, a scenic waterfall flowing into the sea. We travelled farther up to the north coast and got some great views of the Quiraing hills. We circled around to Uig, a town on the west coast of the island, and visited Faerie Glen, a set of very scenic rolling green hills and pools, which makes you feel like you're in a fairly tale.
After exploring the northern part of the island, we returned to Portree. I went on a boat cruise that evening, which offered stunning views of the surrounding coastline. We passed by a rocky part of the shoreline on which dozens of seals were resting. The guide, who we had a hard time understanding because of his accent, also threw some fish in the water to get a nearby hawk to come out and go after them. Towards the end of the cruise, the guide pulled up a crab trap and let us observe the marine life that was temporarily captured before returning the creatures to the sea.
