This day, I ventured over to Akershus Fortress, which is just east of the city centre. This is an old fortress you can walk through and offers some great views of Oslo's harbour. While my day was cut short due to some errands, I took some time this day to explore Oslo. I started off by going to the Royal Palace, which isn't very far from the hotel I stayed at. I then made my way down Karl Johan's gate, the pedestrian street that runs through the city centre. There was a lively atmosphere along the street and a large variety of shops and cafes. I veered over to the waterfront and walked along Aker Brygge, a boardwalk that was pretty busy...

I took the train from Bergen to Oslo, which was quite scenic. The weather had cleared from the previous night and there were some great views from the train. After arriving in Oslo, I took some time to walk around and familiarize with the downtown core.
