Hi everyone,

We thought we should do a quick update to let you know we're both alive and well! We've slowly settled in to the Aussie way of life and making the most of what Brisbane has to offer. It's very different living here, but after a spell of homesickness, we're both now really enjoying it.

The first month of Winter - June - has been fairly wet and cool, but on the rare occasions when the sun did shine we took advantage of it and got out and about - an unsuccessful Bass fishing trip, and a day down at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast with our housemates. July has brought gorgeous sunshine and temperatures of 25C so far so we hope it stays like this for the rest of Winter!

Jim has been really successful going back in to the promotional work he did in Sydney 7 years ago, whilst I've been filling my days with endless job searches, exploring the city, and generally driving myself mad! But now, 6 weeks after arriving here, I finally have a job!! I'll be working in the head office of one of the main banks here in the HR department. Ironically I'll be assisting with the redundancies of 500 staff about to take place!! It's a temporary contract, good money and a nice 15 minute walk away in the sunshine and I start on Monday. It'll be a shock to the system working again but I'm looking forward to it.....

So the plan for the next few months is to work and earn money, with a few weekend trips here and there to Frazer Island, Noosa and Byron Bay. My brother Chris is over in October travelling so we're going to work until then, and once again don our back-packs to head up to the Barrier Reef together for a holiday. Then it's down to Sydney to start this all over again in time for Summer!

We haven't got any new photos to upload unfortunately, but in the meantime I'm uploading a few videos from the start of our trip. They're only short snippets but take a look and enjoy.
