Buenos Aires, beautiful Buenos Aires. We both LOVE this city. Again, we were fortunate to be staying with friends we've met along the way, Fede & Jime, and had the comfort of their lovely apartment - a washing maching, cable TV, comfy beds and a great warm shower...daily normalities but extreme luxury when travelling!
The city of Buenos Aires has so much to offer...great museums, beautiful parks, mouth-watering food and wine and not forgetting the passionate dance the Argentines are famous for, the Tango. We spent our week walking the city streets, wandering around the antique markets, strolling in the parks on the weekend, experiencing the nightlife as a local and watching the Tango being danced by young and old.
The city carries a strong European vibe, a lasting legacy of the Spanish, French and English, and the people are a real mix...so we actually blended in quite well. There certainly isn't the same sense of fear that you experience in other large cities such as Mexico City or Sao Paulo, and the distinction between rich and poor is more blurred.
Out of all the cities we've visited, BA is the first city we've felt at home and by far the most memorable. We're definitely heading back here on the final leg or our South America journey, to participate in the Tango dancing (much to James' trepidation), eat yet more steak and wine (so we leave with the onset of gout) and shop til we drop - another highlight of the trip so far. We're loving Argentina and can't wait to sample what else the country has to offer!

David I applaud all of you on a pmeonhenal performance in Buenos Aires. I was fortunate enough to meet you on the plane down to Argentina, therefore knew about the concert in Bs. As. Having grown up in an Argentinian household I am quite familiar with tango music and Por Una Cabeza is one of my favorites. You should all be very proud of your performance it was brilliant! I am also very happy that you were able to see a portion of Argentina and enjoy the beauty and the passion of the country and the people as well. I hope you are all able to return soon.Sincerely,Lisa Andersen
