On our way from Nelson to Christchurch we stopped in Kaikura for an afternoon of activities. Grant and I decided to swim with seals, since we had already seen dolphins in Paihia. We got to swim with 2 seals that were in the water. The trip was good as there were only 8 of us on the boat and so there were not too many people in the water at once. The seals are extremely inquisitive and swim really close to you. I didnt like it when they show their teeth though, however I am assured that they are just playing. After the seals we went for a wine tasting, usually I can't tell, but the wine was horrible! We then made the rest of our way to Christchurch and had a free night where we went to a local bar for a drink as it was a guy in the groups Birthday.
