From Auckland we headed north to the Bay of Islands for 3 days and stayed in Paihia. On Wednesday 25th we travelled up on the bus. We then did a boat trip and went out to see if we could swim with dolphins. We were lucky and got to see lots of dolphins, however we didn't get to swim with them as they had babies with them so you are not allowed in the water. After the boat trip we had a BBQ in the hostel with some of the other people who were on the bus.

On Thursday 26th we did a day trip to Cape Reinga. Hre we gor to walk through the rainforrest. We then headed to a Sand Dune and boarded down the 85m high dune, not something I thought I would do but it was really good fun. We then went to the highest point of the north island which is Cape Reinga and saw a lighthouse. On the way back to Paihia we drove down the 90 mile beach in a bus which was bizarre and stopped to catch some shell fish on the way - we got a whole bucket full!

We relaxed at the beach on Friday morning and caught the bus back to Auckland arriving early evening back into the city.
