Thanks for the messages, we were at Waitomo for one night (good job the Motel was crap) we did the Glow worm Cave which was very interesting, a once in a lifetime experience. Then onto Rotorua, which smells like rotten eggs it's on a big geothermal fault there are mud and water pools bubbling emitting the smell, the first afternoon we walked around the town, park (with smelly pools) and along side the lake, some of which also has sulphur springs (smelly). Next morning off to Wal-O-Tapu the photo is Lady Knox Geyser one of the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere, they induce an eruption once a day and it shoots boiling water 100 ft in the air (its impressive), also more bubbling pools and lakes some bright colours. The afternoon we went to Whakarewarewa Therma Village (Maori) this is one of few, which are not commercialised and families actually live there. We watched a very good cultural show, had a tour led by a Maori which was very interesting and we spoke to some of the locals, a great afternoon. Next day off to Whitianga to meet up with my sister Jan and her husband Mick, who are here touring in a motor home. John & Gail
