4.30am ish and we were up and making ready for our departure. The short drive to the airport is only about 40 mins so after a sleepy farewell to Jen, Checkez and Pete we were on our way. Needed to fill up with fuel but didn't see a petrol station the whole way so had to leave the car with half a tank. The rental drop off point at our terminal 4 was unmanned so we had to head all the way round to Terminal 1 drop offs to leave the car and then get the Airport terminal connect bus back. All this was taking so long I was beginning to fret that we might even miss our flight. We finally got back to Terminal 4 with 15 mins to spare and I was relaxed again.
The flight was uneventful with Quantas and we landed at Melbourne on time having brought some Perth weather with us and met Chloe in the terminal as planned - really great to see Chloe again after about 20 years give or take.
There is more traffic and more people packed into Melbourne than Perth so the environment was quite different, but the atmosphere vibrant and fresh. We quickly settled into Chloe's pad and the 4 of us went out for a Mexican nearby a bit of shopping and quite without realising Chloe and I had consumed 3 bottles of Sauvignon Blanc. Time for bed .......Boing (said Zebbidy).
