Another Wow day today. This trip has not disappointed. Today is wine tasting day in Margaret River. Dozens & Dozens of Winery's to choose from so it is just as well that Jen & Checkez know the best ones to visit. In all we might have only visited 4 winery's for tasting but at each one you can choose 5 or 6 different wines to taste along with the expertise of the staff to explain what you should expect on your palette. It's surprising that with only breakfast behind you, an earlyish start and beautiful warm weather how quickly you start floating on the clouds. 5 tastes is equal to one glass of wine. (By the way it is all free - just think of a wine crawl instead of a pub crawl). It is also immediately apparent that good quality wine at source is so much better than the cheap stuff we buy at the local supermarket. The 4th Winery was also unique inso much that it was also a nougat maker. This added to the experience watching it being made and tasting it. They also made a nougat liqueur in Almond or Coffee flavour which was delicious. Finally out last visit was to the chocolate factory - to taste chocolate naturally. Loved the dark chocolate...........and their coffee.
Next stop was the beach to see if we could find any sharks to clean their teeth. Unfortunately despite being in the water at their natural feeding time (Dusk), we didn't come face to face with any but did have a great time body surfing in some of the most powerful surf I have experienced, (made Newquay look like a kids paddling pool and nearly got snapped in two when dumped into the beach upside down and backwards), plus an hour of beach footy in the soft sand.
Now we are back at the Mansion where Pete is preparing a lovely curry to eat whilst consuming a lot of wine.
