hola!!
i cant remember exactly what ive done since the last blog but will try and give it a go!! its because (SHOCK HORROR) we are getting up around 7am every day so fit so much in, painful!!!! this has also resulted in no nights out (although do try and fit in pisco sours - my new favourite - at every opportunity!!)
Firstly after sandboarding, we went to the nazca lines. we ad a pretty emntal pilot who delighted in tipping the plane at a 90degree angle so we could get the very best views while shouting LOOK LOOK, however, this jst resulted in barn and sul getting extremely travel sick hahaha.
we then spent 2 days in colca canyon, the 2nd deepest canyon in the world. this is also famous for spotting condor birds, which span 3m in length and fly all down and above the canyon. we werent too bothered about spotting these but after half n hour of waiting really wanted to see one!! we werent disappointed. 5 huge birds showed up and literally did the best display , flying about 5m over our heads. our tour guide said this was the 2nd best she´d ever seen them and shes been going 3 times a week for 5 years.. the condors love us. we hope the weather has the same feelings for us at macchu picchu!
we also went to some hot springs one of the days which was really cool (pisco sour in there too).. and on the way back we got out of the bus to look at the stars which were incredible as we were so high up there were no pollution to shield them, you could see the whole milky way and someone said also venus but not sure how accurate that was! (you can tell uncle andy i have looked mum haha!) there were so many stars was really incredible.
we have also visited arequipa which was good but cusco far beats it as a city. it was reallypretty there and when we arrived there were loads of processions in the main square as its nearing their independance day.
today we have moved on with our bags and stuff ready for the inca trail.. we´ve spent a day travelling round the sacred valley and seeing some inca ruins. unfortunately barn has come down with a tummy bug but we´re hopign she´ll be okay by tomorrow. another girl in the group has also dropped out due to altitude sickness argh. everyones really excited tho!!!!
just thought should add in about the duifferent peruvian foods ive shoved down my gob as well as all the peruvian drinks! so far has guineea pig (someone elses - not a whole dish) al paca and cactus fruit!!
i think that this blog should end with the fact that I AM IN LOVE WITH PERU!!! its just awesome, the scenery , the people everything. i think my peruvian jumper that i have aquired is the missing piece to allow me to blend in with the locals so i can stay here forever.
be in touch after the inca trail!!!!!!!!!
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
over and out xx
