Jess in Europe
yes! Florence! :)
The Train ride here was HELL. Lets see if I can quickly list it out.
-the train people MISS labled the cars. I was supposed to be in 8 but I guess 8 was actually 5.
-when I got in my correct cart after much misunderstood Italian, my seat was taken by an annoying Italian woman. Who insisted she had the seat reserved even though I had a ticket saying it was mine.
-Moved into a different compartment with a scottish couple I met, then got kicked out in Roma by people who actuallly had it reserved.
- went back and fought with the Italian Lady to get her out of my seat, I was yelling in English and she in Italian. I went and got the train conductor.
-Turns out the train "double booked" my seat and because she was there first I had to just find any open seat and deal with it. Lugging my heavy suit case along with me.
-I sat right across from the stupid Italian biatch glaring at her through my sunglasses the rest of the ride.
-the train didnt stop at the stop I needed to get off at.
-THANK GOD for thr Scottish couple who tole me I needed to catch another train to get into Main Florence.
Florence so far has been awesome. Aside from the train ride from hell. Did laundry last night, then went out a festival that is in town for 2 days where I got fair food and bought something cute for michelle and drank cheap beer. Then I went to an Irish pub (Lets go recommended) and got into heated discussions with Italian men about stuff I didnt know anything about. Met a guy walking home who offered to buy me dinner at the restuarant down the street at 10:30pm tonight. He doesnt speak good English and I dont speak Italian, this may be the perfect relationship... ;)
Talked to Lynda, Michelle and My dad and Natalie. which was nice, because I probably wont get a chance to again until I get home. All and all a good day.
Today I wandered around florence, with out a map (they fell out of my pocket) or with any idea what I wanted to do since the musames were closed. I had a greqat day where I found off hand churches that were beautiful, street markets with tons of random stuff, an authentic Italian lunch with all the courses and the wine, more markets on the way back, and now I am using the free internet! :) contimplating taking a little sisesta and then going out again... :) Who knows what tomorrow will bring! :)
sorry so long peeps!
