Jess in Europe
I walked by that EXACT picture today! Except, it was more crowded, but you get the picture.
Lets see, where did I leave off? Oh yes,
Pompeii- Because Naples Italy is a s*** hole, and yes all of you willl get post cards with e expressing exactly what I think of it... Evann and I and Maryann had to leave all day, so day one we went to Pompeii and Sorrento. Pompeii is this mysterious town that was covered by ash when the volcano exploded a long time ago, all of the people died in the position they happen to be in from ash and sufforcating. It totally preserved everything until one day people started to dig and eventually found an entire city buried by dirt and ash. Thats what it feels like walk through... your walking through an entire roman city, just as it was. They have some of the dead bodies in glass cases so you can see their facial expressions and the outline of the clothes they are were wearing, all of it. it is crazy. No worries, i took pictures!
We decided to just hop on the train to Sorrento, a beachy city about 30mins past pompeii because we could stand the thought of going back to Naples until we ABSOLUTLY had too. Sorrento is beautiful and an expensive beachy town. There are shops to wander in and out of, ice cream, dine in places, and the beach is amazing. Evann and I and Maryann wandered down and it was so awesome that Evann and I got in clothes on and everything. Luckily it was dusk to the sky was amazing and the beach was empty so we didnt look too crazy.
We stopped on the way back to the bus station for some food and drink and then headed back to hell, I mean Naples.
Next was Carpri. After some drama at the train station over Evann and Maryann getting tickets to paris, because Italian men are asses, we headed to the boat dock to get to capri. Capri is this little island off the coast of Italy that is absolutly beautiful. We wandered around, rode over croses busses up the steep frightening hill, mail post cards, had a yummy lunch with Nice Italians (I know, an amazing thing!) I dragged Evann in the water even though she insusted that the rocks were killing her feet. We swam across the cove so evann could prove that she was right, although it was all just a ploy for me to get her in the water and swimming across the cove... ;) We headed back and some Italian/American schooled boys made funny eyes at Evann and I the whole way back while telling us not to fall over the side of the boat... The cute old Italian man on the boat was trying to get me to sit and enjoy the ride, but all I wanted to do was stand and have fun in the wind! :) All and all a good day! Evann and Maryann left for Paris, and I talked to Katie and Lyn and then departed for florence the next morning.
The bus ride and florence are a WHOLE different entry which I will type out in a minute! :)
