Hey everyone,
How lovely it was to chat to you all yesterday... I felt rather sad when I woke up though and needed a hug (georgia obliged) but it is not the same as seeing you all. It is a rather drib drab day on Koh Tao today, the rain is falling and we have all donned our leggings and comfy flan shirts. Had a great couple of days though, and still loving the islands, despite the impeding monsoon season :( Today we leave for Ko Phi Phi by overnight boat. I am seriously tempted to buy some valium to get me through the night (dont worry mum.. I thought twice... although I am tempted to get some over the counter and slip it in your drink every so often when I have done something wrong... would work a dream hehe!) It is a 14 hour journey but with 3 others to cuddle up to I am sure it will be fine! Anyway I will get to telling you about the next few days....
May 14th- Day of recovery for Amber... and chilling for the rest of us at Aoung Loung Bay
Amber went out on the lash the evening before so she was dead to the world all day and did not make it to the bay with us unfortunately... she was a state hehe! Kelly, Rachel, Chantal, Sabrina, Georgia, Amos and I all went to the bay though, which proved a worthwhile venture as it was beautiful. We were gonna take mopeds but having witnessed bandages on every 1 in 5 backpackers thanks to engine burns we decided it was a bad idea with our collective track records of accidents. Also, the Thai's are very good at finding new scratches and charging ridiculous amounts of money to fix them... so a taxi sounded like a safer option. The bay was gorgeous and had deeper water which we could swim in, and it was all enclosed and private which was beautiful. We spent the afternoon there and then returned in the evening to all have a massive meal at Bans restanrant, accompanied by a Chang beer. It was a good relaxing day, and topped off with a couple of episodes of gossip girl, I slept like a baby!
May 15th- day of nothingness, followed by night out on the razzle...
Today we did nothing but eat, sleep and sunbath through the cloud. There is little of interest to tell you. Although we did bump into our friend charlie who had been caught with weed on his moped and taken into custody, only to be told he would have to spend 10 days in Ko Phan Ghan jail then he would get a lawyer, then he would have another 10 days in jail and then he would get a hearing.... scary huh?! Well 800 pounds later and he got off the hook, but he had not been carrying much so I dare to think what would happen if he had been carrying a more illegal drug or a higher quantity.
In the evening we had planned a big night out. All 8 girls sat around and played 'Never have I ever' which was not that good as it turned out most of us knew each others business anyway! We drank our hideous whiskey buckets, and danced a wee bit, though I became rather attached to a retriever which I named Goldie so I stroked her most of the night, missing my babies back home. I also got landed with Georgia's bag as she was rather drunk, and left it under my watch. Sara was off with her new man Dan, and sabrina was no where to be found, so at 3 am I decided to turn in, after searching for georgia for an hour. Turns out she was asleep at home all along so had nothing to worry about anyway! Shame though, as none off us had the night we anticipated really!
May 15th- Chilling in the rain
Today the rain started, so we watched skins all day and ate ridiculous amounts. I had a kick ass snickers smoothie too... made my day. Well actually it didnt... what made my day was speaking to my family on Skype, particularly Ben who I am missing so much right now. God I love you all so much, and it was so lush to chat and catch up. I cannot wait to see you all again! And good luck with your exams Ben... I know you an do it, just keep my advice in mind. Also, I had a great chat with Liam, who I am also missing! Was so nice to catch up and australia now feels like it is closer than ever! Did feel a little low on putting the phone down... wish you were all here! In the evening we had tapas with some of Ambers friends (who were a little 'Rah' for my liking- I mean the first thing they asked us was 'where did you go to school? Was it private?- urgh is all I can say) but Amber isnt like them, she is lovely! We watched skins in the evening, which made me homesick as it is in Bristol! Miss England in all its wetness and greyness!
Anyway, so I am a little homesick at the moment, but it seems like there is light at the end of the tunnel as I am at least seeing Liam soon! And then I can skype home all the time!
Sorry but I cannot be bothered to put my photos up until I get to Australia, as it is tiresome and expensive, but if you fancy checking me out (which I know you all wanna do...) then visit www.statravelblogs.com/saraamos, she has popped up all the island photos and cambodia ones, so you can have a look!
Miss you lots guys, and will chat soon!
