We surprised the boys with a trip to Legoland... they were so excited! The journey from Aarhus to Billund is an hour and there's campsite opposite Legoland, which we are staying on overnight. After 8 hours at Legoland, we are chilling in the van before setting off tomorrow for a long journey back to Holland. Would definitely recommend a pilgrimage to Legoland.. glad we made it happen for the boys

Last day/eve in Aarhus being culture vultures! What a fab place it is. So much to see and do. It's supposed to be the happiest city in the world's happiest country, I can see why! Everyone friendly and there is a real buzz in the city with it being the European Capital of Culture 2017. All of the museums and events are free for under 18's too. We've arrived in Aarhus and camping 5k out of the city, right on the coast surrounded by the Marselisborg forest and nature reserve. It's beautiful! Boys have already been in the sea and we are here now for 4 days. Can't wait to explore Aarhus!

Today we catch the Catamaran ferry for a 75 min crossing over to central Jutland and to Aarhus- European Capital of Culture 2017! So excited to visit here. We decided to shorten our time in Holland so we could spend more time in Denmark. Yesterday we visited the Viking museum in Roskilde. We've arrived in Denmark after getting the ferry from Puttsgarten to Rodby. An easy 45 minute crossing on the ferry. We've stopped in Roskilde, home of the Vikings, at a very pleasant campsite by the Fjord. The boys and I went swimming in the Fjord, so fresh! There were lots of little jelly fish in the water, that won't sting due to the high salt levels in the water. The boys loved jumping off the jetty into the water.
