Last day/eve in Aarhus being culture vultures! What a fab place it is. So much to see and do. It's supposed to be the happiest city in the world's happiest country, I can see why! Everyone friendly and there is a real buzz in the city with it being the European Capital of Culture 2017. All of the museums and events are free for under 18's too. Food can be expensive but most of the cafes and deli's offer brunch deals, which are a good option. Aarhus Street Food is great and not too expensive either. Here's what we got up to in the city...
1. Den Gamle By Museum... amazing open air Museum taking you through the ages to a 1970's Danish commune.
2. ARoS Modern Art Museum. Fantastic 'No Man is an Island' exhibition and Rainbow panoramic view of the city.
3. Aarhus Street Food- (as good as
Copenhagen's)
4. Deer park in the Marselisborg Forest.
5. Public Library and park- superbly designed library on the seafront with installations and cafe.
6. Wandering around the hip Latin Quarter.. lots of independent shops and cafes.
There's a whole programme of Arts/events and more to explore. Thinking of returning in the Autumn... next stop LEGOLAND!!!!
