Over this second week have gotten to know the poeple we are staying with quite well and they are lovely and we all went out for Thai dinner together on Monday night. The weather here has turned very cold and while we were doing a 2hour walking tour of Wall St we nearly froze to death from the winds which made it hard to enjoy the tour (not to mention that there were thousands of Asians at the bull so we couldn't even get a proper photo). We have discovered the worst thing we have done in NY and would not recommend the Guggenheim Museum to anyone. After the Museum of Natural history we had begun to think that maybe museums weren't as boring as we thought but the Guggenheim has made me never want to go to a museum again. The particular artist they had on display used only scrap metal from cars so all his pieces pretty much looked like the yard at Slade's Smash Repairs and what made it worse was that there were thousands of people there staring at the 'works of art' and I am not sure what they could possibly have been thinking. The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens were absolutely amazing and we spent longer there than we thought we would although when I look back at our photos I don't think they portray how beautiful it was. We saw 'Rock of Ages' on Broadway and it was great, the performers are soo talented and there is a movie coming out that has the same story line and Tom Cruise is in it as well as lots of other famous people so we are looking forward to seeing that back in Australia. To celebrate ANZAC day we went to an Australian pub with Stu and some of his friends and had a great night, they had the league on T.V and served meat pies and sausage rolls. We have also been to the hi-line which is old aboveground train track that has been turned into a park and goes for about 20 blocks. We also had our first meat pies in 5 months at 'Pie Face' which is an Australian company that has just opened up a store in Manhattan. Macy's has been having a sale so we decided to have a look because it is the biggest Macy's store in the world and spans a whole block and is 9 stories high but it was packed with people and we didn't buy anything because the line ups were rediculous. We went to Ripleys Believe it or Not museum and hired the row boats in Central Park which is just beautiful. New York has definitely surprised us and there are endless things you can do here so we are glad this has been our last stop in the US to finish on a high.

Candy Definitely good to be leaving America on a high! Looking forward to hearing how things go in Europe. Can't believe that Pie Face is in Manhattan! Must of been exciting to see that and have a decent Aussie pie!
