So we woke this morning fearing the worst and felt slightly blue. We had a look on Agoda and found some hotels/hostels that we could stay in. We headed down to the beach to see if the travel agent was open but we were to early. We went and sat on the beach and had banana pancakes to wait for the shop to open. The view and sun shining allowed us to come to terms with having to stay another night on Koh Samui as the hotel on Koh Tao is only costing £17 per night and we don't have any real timetable for our travels so just accepted it.
We went to the travel agent for 0900 and as soon as we entered she was like " You go, you go" Yes! Isla and I jumped for joy, I could have kissed the Thai lady I was so happy. We thanked her dearly and headed back to the hotel to wait for our taxi to the port.
Our transport arrived and we made it to the port to get the 1700 ferry which eventually arrived at 1800. The ferry was jam packed as other travellers had clearly struggled to leave the island after New Years. We got a seat and enjoyed our journey to Koh Pan Yang to drop people off before heading to Koh Tao. After Pan Yang the sun went down and the waves got bigger, the water was splashing over the sides and the ferry was going up and down like a roller coaster. Isla went quiet on me which I knew was a sign for her not having fun. The crew started to hand out sick bags and simultaneously people started to be sick. Isla held off but with the way the journey was going I feared it would only be a matter of time. Isla then got this cramping in her right hand which she couldn't get rid of, she then got it in her left hand as well and now couldn't really use her hands properly. Really freaky stuff and I was her concerned as it didn't make sense. Isla then had to be sick and I had to hold the bag for her. After the sickeness, Isl got her hands back and we arrived at Koh Tao thankfull to see land.
We headed off the boat and towards the main road walking past loads of tuk tuk drivers trying to get us to ride with them. Luckily I had been in contact with the hostel and they had arranged our transport. There was a young Thai man holding up a sign with my name on it which was a great relief. We got in his car and headed to our first hostel. Surprisingly it was really nice, really trendy looking with a touch of IKEA. The room had a large bed, air con and an ensuite. The hostel also provided breakfast along with free tea and biscuits which kept Isla happy. Not exactly slumming it like a normal hostel. We were very happy with the room and couldn't wait to see Koh Tao in the daytime.
