Sunday 31st Jan We were woken up at 6am by a brass band playing on the street....at 6am!!! Why!!!? By this stage we're pretty excited about the thought of Australia and some peace! As we were getting ready to go for breakfast Jay couldn't find his wallet, we both emptied all of our bags and it was nowhere to be found. He thought he had left it at the hostel where we did the elephant trip from so we made our way there praying it would be found. When we got there ...

We woke up after a lovely night in our wooden hut. We could here all sorts of noises, roosters in the valley, dogs in the field next door and loads of crickets. It all just makes the experience more enjoyable and isn't actually disturbing as you might think. We had breakfast overlooking the valley and got speaking to and very cool Indian man who has been travelling for 18 years non stop teaching people to become Yoga instructors (a very obvious vocation in Pai). ...

Another enjoyable overnight train journey to Chiang Mai, helped by having the lower berths which have so much room plus the window to look out early in the morning when you arrive. I woke up at about 0630 and was joined by Isla who wanted to snuggle and said she had been wondering when she could come into my berth. We woke up from a wonderful sleep at the fancy hotel ☺️ and had a lovely breakfast (although the beans where still luke warm but hey it's Asia). We were waiting to be collected for our tour in the beautiful hotel lobby when a suspicious looking fella comes in, I say to jay 'he looks super dodgy' and of course he is running our tour! Saturday 23rd January 2016 After a lovely train journey into Hanoi (probably the best overnight journey we have had), we immediately saw how cold it was going to be.
