It's pretty amazing how many times you bump into the same people, usually in the most random of places too. While we were on Perhentian's we bumped into Tim and Chris, two English lads Jen and Vic had met on a boat trip in Halong Bay, Vietnam. They wanted to go to Taman Negara too so the four of us got the 6 hour bus there from Kuala Besut. It was quite a funny little town, nothing much there other than the National Park we'd planned to visit. We stayed in a guest house that looked like a kids nursery, very odd. We set our alarms for first thing so that we could be the first into the Park...at 4:45am we realised this was unnecessary as the local Muslim leader spent the next hour on a loud speaker calling everyone to pray! We spent a couple of hours trekking through the rain forest and although we didn't see any animals, the scenery from the top was something else. We braved it across the canopy walk, a lot scarier than the one in 'I'm a celebrity get me out of here'!! It was ridiculously high and in places it was literally just a couple of step ladders tied together with a few knots, once we saw the lads safely across we followed! It's a shame cuz Jen's camera has since got a virus on it and my camera had broken at this point so we don't have any photos to put on the blog. Another early start (and once again woken by the loud speaker) we got the local bus to Kuala Lumpur...
