Arrived in Austria safe and sound after a very busy train journey having to sit on the floor for most of it. Had a very chatty Chinese man sat next to is at the start telling us his whole life story which was funny (and bit annoying as we were so tired from an early get up)!
We were very impressed with ourselves managing to find our way to the hotel using the metro and the tram, we looked like locals!
When we arrived at hotel we the set off to the Naschmarket, a large almost German type market/ Carboot sale. Bought a few bits as well as a gorgeous gelato! Mango for me and mango and strawberry for Ellie. Just what we needed to cool us down on a hot day! Next we wandered to the Belvedere Palace and stopped of for a cool drink- so thirsty from all the walking! Wandered back to hotel, freshened up and went out to find some dinner in the main city area, right round the corner from St Stephens Cathedral which is rather impressive. Then we found a rooftop bar (seems to be becoming a habit) and were amazed by the view- 18 floors high. Absolutely stunning views and such a posh bar and restaurant (we felt a tad out of place). We had the cheapest drink on the menu and then went back to hotel. Feeling really exhausted today due to being full on our first few days. Relaxing shopping day needed tomorrow we think! First impressions of Vienna: not what we expected. More urbanised and commercial than we thought and have seen more hen and stag do's in our time here so far than all our time in budapest. Strange... Will see what tomorrow brings :-)
