So we've got to Koh Samui, we got a minibus on Monday morning which was a really nice one with good air con, so a much better journey, and the boat journey was good too it took an hour and a half but lovely views of the small islands!! We arrived about 4.30pm in Chaweng on Koh Samui (we just got on the bus (like an extended tuk tuk)to get to this beach) and trekked around a bit with our backpacks on (not good in the heat here!) to find a hostel/guesthouse. We have got one about a 5 minute walk from the beach, and the room is lovely and it's only 500 baht a night, so although not as cheap as we first thought still the cheapest place we've stayed in!

The beach here is lovely clear water unlike phuket and its shallow for ages so you can walk fairly far out.

Yesterday we just sat on the beach all day and sunbathed (we both burned our backs and back of our legs!) and went in the sea. Last night we went out for tea - found a great cheap thai restaurant that looks like a big shed on the side of the road but is great! Then we went to a couple of bars and then as we were walking back to the room the live music from 'tropical murpheys' bar called us in. It was really good as the music was rock and was fab to see thai guys jumping around singing the chilli peppers etc! We got chatting to a couple of guys one from australia and one from ireland (is there any irish left in Ireland?) and so we chatted and had a couple more changs (beers) with them and then at kicking out time at 2am we grabbed a burger then walked back to the room in the rain - weird how you can get so wet and still be red hot - not like rain back home!!

Today we had a lie in and then went to the beach again but because it was soo hot we spent all the day in the sea and we hired a jetski which was good fun as i had bicky screaming down my ear when i put it on full throttle!!! haha i am a mean big sister!!

Anyway tonight we've had dinner at the same place again and are now on the internet before we go for a beer. Dont think we'll be watching the England game tonight as it startd at 1.30am so i think i'd prob fall asleep before it ended.

I think thats about all to say, we're hoping to stay here in ko samui for another week then go up to koh phan ngan for a week. I think we'll hopefully try out a couple of other beaches this week too, as lamui beach is supposed to be nice too.
